| Mick is a seasoned telecomms professional with a proven track record in technical innovation. Following a 36 year career with BT, Mick retired this year and is now consulting within the telco industry. For BT, Mick was most recently Chief Architect and led the standards programme, directing the architecture for BT’s 21st Century Network and ensuring its alignment with global standards. In his standards role, Mick sat on the Boards of the TeleManagement Forum, the WiMAX forum and of ATIS. Over his career Mick worked in design and development in many areas, including optical cable and transmission, switching and intelligent networks and systems software. He is now advising a range of clients in the industry. He is a Senior Advisor to Huawei, where he advises on industry trends and product directions, and advises Nomura on future investment opportunities. Mick is also advising Ofcom, the UK regulator on NGN interconnect issues. He is on the advisory boards of Assia, a DSL-related start up company and of Genband. Mick is a Fellow of the IEC and a Fellow of the UK’s Royal Academy of Engineering. |
