About the Industry Liaison Program

Building successful co-operative working relationships with other Industry Groups is an essential element in the work of TM Forum. It is increasingly important that selected Industry groups are made aware of the on-going work of TM Forum – in order that this work may influence other industry developments.  Likewise, it is equally important that TM Forum is kept abreast of developments in other Industry Groups, which may impact its own work program.  Ensuring such “Liaisons” are put in place will lead to more efficient development, less industry confusion and more significant and cost-effective standards. In this context “Industry Group” may consist of a number of differing forms – for example formal standards bodies as well as industry consortia etc.

In some cases, the intent is to collaborate on joint work projects.  In other cases, it’s a desire to exchange information and documents.  Sometimes, it’s simply a desire to maintain an open dialog so each organization is aware of what the other is doing.  To deal with these various strategies, TM Forum maintains an actively managed Liaison Program.  For more information on the Liaison Program within TM Forum please see the TeleManagement Forum Operating Guide (GB919) Chapter 11.   For summary information on Industry  Groups involved and associated TM Forum work areas see:  Liaison Tracking Document.
