See how your IP Business Services business unit’s performance compares to your industry peers and gather objective, actionable data you can use to demonstrate your successes.
For this benchmarking study, IP Services are IP VPNs, IP Wholesale Access, and IP Backhaul—business services sold to enterprise or communication service provider customers (not residential customers). Generally, these are high speed, high revenue services.
By contributing to this study, service providers will gain insights into their organization’s IP provisioning and business performance, enabling them to improve their business effectiveness. This continuing study also provides historical trending information.
The previous IP Services study (R5) showed increased alignment between fast delivery times and ability to deliver by the committed date. Additionally, more service providers delivered quickly and with average or better predictability. The time to fulfill service orders improved strongly, with median scores decreasing from 1485 to 855 hours. All participants were delivering faster and many were more effective at predicting the time required.
This year’s study benchmarks Customer Experience, Operational Efficiency, and Revenue and Margin performance, and includes new metrics focused on provisioning performance and the impact on service delivery times of using 3rd party suppliers. The study was defined by the IP Services Dialog Team, that included participation by BT, SingTel Optus, TELUS, Reliance Globalcom and Turk Telekomunikasyon.
By participating in the 2011 study, service providers can compare their own performance to their industry peers and use the study results to: - Establish meaningful transformation objectives
- Set near term improvement goals based on their competitive landscape
- Identify and prioritize investments to yield optimal improvement in business performance
Participating service providers receive secure individualized reports showing their performance on each metric and have access to broader results and statistics in the benchmarking database. This is an absolutely free service to Service Provider members of TM Forum — a $100K value!
A report with aggregated study results is available to nonparticipating service providers for a fee, and to suppliers as part of a paid subscription.
