Summary:
This Case Study presents the results of adopting an NGOSS-styled Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and using Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) code generation techniques to create fully specified NGOSS Contracts. The use of NGOSS industry best practices (eTOM, SID, TAM and TNA) allows for the creation of ‘normalized’ and more re-useable solution specifications.

Additionally, standard APIs from OSS/J and MTOSI were used as the basis for creating Java EJB and Web Service realizations of SOA Services, respectively.

The Case Study used open source components from AndroMDA for the UML to Code generation and JBoss for the Application, Process and Policy Server.

The combined use of open source components and NGOSS reference material provided the ground work supporting a Model-Driven approach to creating SOA Services to automate tasks defined by business process models.
