Release 3 of the TM Forum NGOSS program focuses on defining the elements of the NGOSS toolkit. This release delivers the first fully populated set of NGOSS tools, which make NGOSS usable as an end-to-end system for OSS/BSS development and integration.
With NGOSS 3, significant steps have been made in achieving the NGOSS vision. NGOSS Release 3 is the first release to deliver an interlinked, end-to-end solution from the business process analysis phase of a project, through the solution design and requirements and into solution architecture.
NGOSS 3 enables service providers to position themselves for a new paradigm in OSS, where changing service offerings happens in hours, not months, where complex processes requiring manual intervention can be automated with an affordable amount of investment, and where cost of OSS and operations are decreasing, even as network complexity is increasing.
NGOSS Release 3 consists of a self consistent set of documents. Point releases of NGOSS Release 3 will be made available when document versions are updated. Not all documents will be upgraded in any given point release, but a full set of documents covering all NGOSS areas will be included in each version of the Release 3 series.
