NGOSS Release 4.0

NGOSS Release 4.0 Document Downloads

Release 4 of the TM Forum NGOSS Program introduces several new items into the NGOSS family of documents. Key among these is the definition of an NGOSS lifecycle process/architecture/methodology that provides a framework for the definition, design and development of an NGOSS Solution using the NGOSS constituent elements: eTOM, SID, Architecture and Compliance. This release also delivers more content within the eTOM business process framework with further expansion into the areas of inter- and intra-enterprise process description. Also, new with this release is a document describing the system view concepts and principles of the shared information models. There is also an introductory Primer on the shared information models along with a new document describing how to make use of the SID UML models using a defined extension process.

NGOSS Release 4 continues the steps made toward achieving the NGOSS vision. This release delivers the Lifecycle framework for defining an end-to-end path from business process analysis, through solution requirements and design specification and on to technology selection and implementation and solution deployment. The main architectural constructs of NGOSS are more consistently defined through the Business and System View Contracts. The Contracts, along with the Use Case constructs are used to capture the concerns of the four main constituent groups expressed by the: Business, System, Implementation and Deployment Views of NGOSS.

The enhancements included in this release of NGOSS enables Service Providers to lead key stakeholders into position for a new paradigm in OSS and BSS solutions, where changing service offerings happen in hours, not months, where complex processes requiring manual intervention can be automated with an affordable amount of investment, and where the cost of OSS/BSS and operations are decreasing, even as network complexity is increasing.
