Synopsis

Assess the performance of your residential broadband business
Many broadband service providers struggle to increase their ARPU (average revenue per user). Competition has become intense, increasing churn, driving tariffs lower, and making add-on services essential to increased revenue. As a result, most service providers in the developed market and many in the metropolitan segments of the emerging markets are offering bundles that include VoIP, IPTV, Gaming, and even mobile connectivity.

A company’s success in providing value-added services, excellent customer experience, and competitive product offerings, is reflected in their net subscriber growth (new subscribers minus attrition). Results from the 2010 TM Forum Residential Broadband Business Performance study found that net subscriber growth ranges widely between leading and lagging service providers. Obviously the leaders are in a better position to reap the benefits of the additional service bundle sales.

This year’s residential broadband benchmarking study has been expanded to accommodate today's market reality. The study will provide participants with a clear view of customer experience, operational costs, profitability, and churn in the context on mono- through quad-play.

Additionally, the study data are segmented by broadband technology (xDSL, Cable, Satellite, and Fiber). In order to benchmark end-to-end quality of service, all aspects related to Customer Premises Equipment, such as Home Gateways and Set Top Boxes are included.

By participating in the study you will get a deeper understanding of:
  • Your current performance
  • How it compares to industry leads and laggards
  • How expectations vary from mono to quad play
  • How those expectations correlate to revenue and profitability
  • Sector comparative performance through online access to our database and its custom filters
TM Forum Business Benchmarking metrics provide a balanced scorecard across finance, customer, and operations. This study’s results will reflect both metric and scorecard-level performance as shown below.

Each participant will receive a personalized report indicating the statistics of the study as well as their individual scores. As always, the anonymity of the participant is protected.
