Technical Overview

The Architecture Harmonization team vision:
  • Develop an adaptable, standardized solution environment that supports the service operations necessary across the entire range of properties for a converged network-, operations- and business continuum
  • Create a solutions environment that continuously supports the OSS/BSS needs through growth and change in network and service capabilities, and through the evolution of implementation technologies.
The Architecture Harmonization team targets:
  • A single architecture covering all aspects of NGOSS;
  • Continuous seamless evolution as the solution grows;
  • Clarity of its intersection with other standards initiatives;
  • Creation of a single inclusive information model;
  • Creation of a single inclusive interaction model among applications;
  • Construction and maintenance of documentation and use of methodology that covers:
    • Business, system, implementation and deployment views;
    • Principles, patterns, architecture and specific examples;
    • Information/data model, operations, components/applications and infrastructure;
    • Static and dynamic structure including migration
  • The enabling of plug-n-play reusable components where out-of-the-box interoperability can be achieved with minimum manual intervention;
  • An extensible reference architecture where business innovation and solution differentiation can be effectively achieved;
  • An ecosystem for the development and maintenance of such an environment:
    • Requiring engagement of multiple organizations beyond the TMF;
    • Taking advantage of standards, capabilities and techniques from the IT industry;
    • Providing process for engagement;
    • Setting up a Contract Management Board to be operated by the NGOSS Contract Program team.
