The Telecoms Time Bomb

By and large, the telecoms industry has weathered the storms of the recent recession pretty well. (The extent to which we have suffered from a recession does, of course, depend on who you ask!) Surviving service providers can, quite rightly, feel proud of the steps they have taken on the path to becoming ‘lean operators’. Although pricing strategies have in general become more realistic and therefore effective, the real gains have been in enhancements to internal operational efficiency through cost reduction and revenue assurance programmes - as one might expect from a transformation in the dominant executive mindset from being entrepreneurial to being accountancy led.
