The broad scope of this project is to develop and maintain business performance metrics in support of service provider needs. These metrics will be used for industry benchmarking to provide comparative data to facilitate decision making for achieving enhanced business performance in line with each SP’s strategy.

The Business Metrics and Scaffold (BusMet) team is responsible for the TM Forum Business Metrics used by CSPs and suppliers as standard industry business performance metrics for the CSP community. Additionally, these metrics are used as the basis for the Business Benchmarking Studies, Metrics Conformance testing, and various TM Forum Benchmarking Services.

BusMet is the Steering Team responsible for the evolution of the Business Metrics and Scaffold. This includes identification of new metrics requirements, extension of the Scaffold as needed, and mentoring of collaboration teams developing metrics for inclusion in the 3 level business metrics suite.

Phase 6 will ensure that the Business Metrics and Scaffold are supportive of industry trends such as increased focus on revenue management issues, new service delivery, Content provider and dealer-based supply chains, and outsourcing of major functions to managed services providers.

The following ‘Role’ activities apply to Maintenance type projects:

• All reasonable efforts will be made to assess (in a timely manner) and resolve new Change Requests which are raised during the lifetime of the charter. If the team are unable to address them, then the CR along with a brief assessment is forwarded to the assigning authority.
• The team will make themselves available as appropriate to answer & assist with user/implementer queries that come in via the community
• The role also includes providing timely guidance and assistance to *projects* that need to make modifications and updates to the material covered in this “maintenance” charter
