TM Forum Catalyst Showcase projects deliver OSS/BSS solutions to service providers, utilizing real and prototype products that automate key processes and deliver integrated solutions. This affords the service providers with the unique opportunity of a neutral setting by which to provide feedback and direction to vendors and suppliers. For vendors and suppliers the Catalyst Showcase provides access to requirements set forth by the service provider community.

The Catalyst Showcase offers an additional sales channel within an OSS/BSS-focused forum where the service provider audience is seeking solutions.  The dynamic collaborative work accomplished within the Catalyst Showcase program tests viability of new approaches in an almost ready for prime time market setting leading to reduced research and development expenses for service providers and vendors.

Showcased at TeleManagement World in Nice 2003:

Collaborative Business Process Management (CBPM)
This Catalyst Showcase focuses on finding a common solution to the issues identified in the TM Forum’s Value Chain Issues Facing the ICT Industry Technical Report (TR128). As telecommunications services become more complex, inter-provider management interface provision becomes increasingly complicated and costly, CBPM demonstrates how service providers can enhance the service repair process and reduce the costs of integrating to multiple trading partners’ systems using industry standard components and automated transaction handling.

The CBPM Catalyst further examines the task routing requirements of inter-service provider task allocation and analyzes issues such as workflow execution tracking and non-repudiation. It also considers the types and nature of Service Level Agreement (SLAs) in complex supply chains.

NGOSS Compliance Center (NCC)
The NGOSS Compliance Center (NCC) Catalyst project demonstrates proof-of-concept to determine feasibility of an on-line catalogue that assists service providers in identifying which products and solutions are compliant with TM Form’s NOGSS criteria.

The NCC Catalyst project uses the TM Forum’s Shared Information Data Model (SID) framework as a reference model within the catalogue for searching and decisions about product placement as the primary key. The NCC Catalyst is responsible for the definition of the format/schema of the catalogue, executing the tests defined by the NGOSS Compliance Team, and defining the selection process to create and maintain the integrity of the catalogue.

NGOSS for Optical Transport Networks
Interoperability and integration issues have long impaired service providers' ability to unlock new revenue streams by rapidly rolling out and managing new services. This Catalyst project will use Gigabit Ethernet services to demonstrate the intersection of three new specifications that tackle these multi-vendor management issues head-on, enabling the rapid introduction of services, automated provisioning, and faster introduction of new services and technologies.
Product Lifecycle Management with NGOSS Catalyst
The Product Lifecycle Management with NGOSS Catalyst (PLM) illustrates how TM Forum’s NGOSS concepts and standards can be leveraged to dramatically improve the processes and systems related to building and releasing new products, with the appropriate product information automatically driven to the right operations systems and catalogs in the network.

The project’s objective presents an NGOSS-compliant demonstration of disparate OSS applications that have been integrated to provide the real-time capability to create, approve, release, distribute, order, fulfill, and bill for new products and services.

PROviding Fast InnovaTive Services (PROFITS)
The PROviding Fast InnovaTive Services (PROFITS) Catalyst Showcase demonstrates rapid service introduction, including aspects of the service development required for service fulfillment, assurance and billing. This is accomplished by use of an enhanced service model that integrates high-level services with the underlying network and related business process items. The service model will be demonstrated in the context of the appropriate TM Forum enhanced Telecom Operations Map™ (eTOM) processes for a selected set of scenarios.
