Management World 2009

Catalyst Showcase

The Catalyst program is the TM Forum’s innovative approach to rapidly launching and creating leading-edge solutions. Based on Service Providers most pressing requirements, teams of system integrators and suppliers collaborate on a solution that culminates in a series of live demonstrations.

These demonstrations utilize off-the-shelf products combined with existing standards and emerging technologies to create solutions which are demonstrated at Management World events. The results are used to accelerate development of TM Forum best practices and standards for use by the industry at large. Besides serving as a ‘proving ground,’ Catalysts also enable Service Providers to gain real-world insight in a compressed time period to help guide strategic investment decisions.

Identity Management with Standard TMF 615
OSS Identity Management
The Catalyst presents the first commercial implementation of TMF615 “OSS Operator User Management” deployed in a multi-vendor OSS environment. For other systems currently not yet supporting the standard a trouble ticket is created via JSR91 “TIP Trouble Ticket Interface” to support the manual procedure for user provisioning. This approach allows an integration of such systems into the process chain.

Optimization of Business Transformation Programs
A key factor in the success of any Business Transformation program is the ability to identify and discover dependencies between products, applications, networks and business processes and their relevant data sources. This demo will showcase ways to optimize transformation activities highlighting the following:

  • Use of semantic technology to identify and discover dependencies between products, OSS/BSS applications, networks and business processes from any relevant data sources
