Communities are where you can be seen and heard by your peers in the industry – where you can get mind share from people who matter to your company and to you personally. Position yourself as a thought leader and exchange ideas with others who are driving the industry forward.
Get Started
The communities are open for a full range of discussions and contributions, large and small. You can:
- Ask or answer a question about implementing a TM Forum best practice, framework, or interface
- Start or add to a discussion about a new topic that is on your mind – trends, technical ideas, or anything else
- Read up on the latest developments in advancement of TM Forum best practices and standards
- Contribute your experiences and advice in using TM Forum frameworks, interfaces or guidebooks for others to learn from your experience. This can be done by starting a discussion or adding a comment or user rating on any of our TM Forum solutions in the Community Downloads views
- Submit a case study about a TM Forum implementation in your company
- Make a formal contribution to a TM Forum best practice or standard through the Contributions button found inside each community. Here, a user can quickly and easily make a contribution by completing the form and attaching the relevant work.
- Read and comment on new versions of documents that are ready for review (this can be done via the downloads area through posting comments and user ratings)
- Download models and code – try them out, prototype with them, use them for your projects -- then provide feedback
- Upload development outputs to share (make sure it is OK with your company!) -- use cases, code, tools, test cases, etc.
- And anything else that helps you – the communities are for anything that is relevant to your business.
Get Involved with our Project Groups
Visit the communities that are of interest to you and read recent posting, wiki pages, and document submissions. Communities often list ways in which people can participate -- see what opportunity matches your skillset or contact the Project Leader to discuss how you might get invovled. Projects are nearly always looking for new participants.
Join a Catalyst Project
Twice per year companies collaborate on rapid prototyping projects called "Catalysts". This is an opportunity to get involved in a limited duration (usually 4-6 months), limited scope project that has a high level of technical and marketing benefit. For many of our members this is their first larger commitment to the TM Forum's Collaboration Program. In Catalyst projects, multiple companies join together to solve a service provider defined challenge through a solution that leverages TM Forum best practices and standards or identifies areas where standards need to be developed. The solution is demonstrated at Management World events in Forumville. Visit the Catalyst web pages for more information.
Expand your Commitment -- Become a "Contributing Member"
The TM Forum Contributing Member program is designed to reward companies who provide committed resources or contributions to the TM Forum which advance strategic projects.
Strategic projects are the defined work packages that need to be completed in a timely manner to help realize the TM Forum's Strategic plan.
There are three tiers of Contributing Member with different eligibility criteria and benefits associated with each tier. At a high level, there are two ways of gaining Contributing Member status.
- Provide resources to work on the strategic projects as defined in the Want Ads for the Contributing Member program
- Submit a Contribution using the Online Contribution form that is available in each of the communities. Where this contribution progresses work towards the Frameworx roadmap as spelled out in the work packages in the Want Ads, the estimated work effort involved in creating this contribution will be counted towards the “Contributing Member” status.
