  • Hot Industry Topics for 2010

Whats hot for 2010? There seems to be a great hunger for finding out what is going to happen in 2010. Having put in such as slow 2009 (albeit the final quarter was very promising for most companies I talked to), people are now desperate for a good 2010, and are obsessed with finding out what the opportunities are going to be. The Forum as you might expect has an opinon on this, so here are our hot topics for 2010: Cord cutting/Price Pressure – this means the on-going trend for consumers shifting...
  • WiMax may still be in the race

For the last 12 months a debate has been raging as to whether WiMax or LTE would dominate the 4G world. If they hit their 2010 dates, they will be in good company - not too early, not too late - right alongside Verizon and multiple other major players! Also interesting was their statement about viewing LTE as a solution built on top of and co-existing with 3G, rather than an instant replacement. But the most...
  • Chinese Telecom Market moves to Pole Position

One of the unexpected side-effects of this global recession is the way it is catapulting China to become the most important telecoms market in the world. The combined effect of a slowdown of Capex investment across US & Europe, with the Chinese government driven Capex investment program of ~$50bn/year for the next two years, means that a staggering 50% of the global annual telecoms capex investment over the next two years will come from China . And this may have a significant impact on the decisions...
