A Note From Toni:
Before reading the Study Plan, I recommend reviewing the legend. Each study in the plan goes through specific phases. The legend describes these phases, providing a good overview of the process. Additionally, you will notice the red bars. These indicate the critical dates for a study as it transitions through the phases. There are 4 of these critical dates for each study:
- The date we freeze the definition
- The date we open the study to data collection and data entry
- The date we close data entry
- The date that reports are available to the participants
Now let's look at the Study Plan. The first thing you notice is that it is divided into Business Performance Studies (blue background) and Revenue Management Studies (green background). This is to make it easier to find the study for which you are looking.
The Business Performance Studies are structured as a Balanced Score Card studies with metrics addressing Revenue and Margin, Customer Experience, and Operational Efficiency concerns. These studies typically look at the efficacy of a line of business such as residential Broadband, Mobile Services, or IP Services for business.
Revenue Management Studies are focused on the specific Revenue Management topics-such as Billing or Revenue Assurance.A note on Surveys: As most of you know the Business Benchmarking Program conducts both benchmarks and secure surveys. When a study will be delivered as a survey, the word “Survey” is shown in the title of the study. For example, the only survey current shown in the Study Plan is the Revenue Assurance Maturity Model Survey starting next spring.
