| | | What is the TM Forum Integration Program (TIP)?
The TM Forum Integration Program (TIP) started in April 2008 with the goal of unifying the various TM Forum interface programs under a single umbrella and common future roadmap. This initial goal of administrative unification has been achieved and the program will continue as the single program in the TM Forum working on the definition of management interfaces.
TM Forum Integration Program (TIP) is responsible for the TM Forum work on interface specifications, related Reference Implementations (RIs), and Compliance Test Kits (CTKs).
The program is the result of the merger of the original mTOP, OSS/J, IPDR, and CO~OP projects. (Note that MTNM and MTOSI are products from the former mTOP project.) The TIP Program is broken down into an over arching co-ordination team (i.e., the Steering Team) and a number of project teams which address specific technical areas. These projects can further break down into working groups. Projects & work groups include:
- Enterprise Security
- Inventory Management
- Ordering and Activation
- Resource and Service Assurance
- Fault Management
- Performance Management
- Testing and Diagnostics
- Trouble Ticketing
- Resource and Service Management
- Carrier Ethernet Management
- GPON Management
- Logical Resource Management
- Shared Interface Infrastructure
- Business Services

The best way to get started is to attend the TIP Steering Team meetings which are usually held every alternating Wednesday from 11 AM to 12:30 PM (US Eastern). This call and many of the other TIP team calls are listed under the "Calendar" tab at the top of the page.

Shared Interface Infrastructure
As part of the TM Forum Integration Program, the TM Forum is sponsoring an open source project that is run by the Shared Interface Infrastructure team. The open source project (know as the Joint Open Source Interface Framework of just JOSIF) is open to the public. The purpose is to define common interfaces patterns and associated tooling that is to be used for each new interface produced by the TM Forum.
More information on the JOSIF work can be found at http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/openoss/index.php?title=JOSIF_Main_Page.
One can also join the email exploders associated with JOSIF at http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=122678. | | Paid Advertisement | | | | | Copyright © 1988-2012, TeleManagement Forum. All Rights Reserved | | | | | |
