SDPs
Service ProviderThe Rise of the SDP and its Impact on OSS/BSS
As standards-based Service Delivery Platforms become ubiquitous, they bring dynamism to allocation of OSS/BSS resources to service execution. This in turn drives the need for dynamic modeling of resource allocation to service execution. This presentation will discuss Oracle's Service Delivery Platform and industry efforts under way to harmonize SDPs with OSS/BSS execution models defined by the TM Forum.
Interactive Services: Enabling a New Generation of Customized, Real-Time, Personalized Services and Content through the Enhanced SDF
The nature of services is moving quickly from “one size fits all” toward an era of customized, real-time, personalized services and content. This has huge impacts on both the network, mainly in the form of the Service Delivery Framework (SDF) and on operations – primarily on Charging, Service Assurance and Service Fulfillment. This talk will describe market forces driving interactive services and how the network – and specifically the SDF – must act differently in an interactive environment.
Enabling Real-Time Processes Using SDPs & IMS
Already CIO’s are focused on real time enterprises and how they can apply lean manufacturing principles for improving the efficiency of IT processes and data centers. The talk will focus on how NGN operations can be improved significantly using Service Delivery Platforms, IMS and SOA. Focus will be on a phased migration strategy for Service Providers to move from where they are to becoming a real time enterprise using SDP, IMS and SOA. Real time aspects of the following NGN business process will be looked at for achieving speed improvements. • Enhancing QoE (quality of experience) through real time monitoring and control when a session is in progress

Service ProviderIntroducing IMS to Accelerate Creation and Delivery of Innovative Broadband Services: Showcase and Proof-of-Concept
IMS is well recognized and accepted as a powerful technology to create end-user services. Less clear is how to most efficiently introduce IMS into an existing legacy environment and turn IMS capabilities into tangible business benefits. This presents the experiences from a Proof of Concept for introducing IMS and IMS-based end-user services across a complete environment – with multiple user devices, connected over different accesses, through the network infrastructure, to the IT systems for services execution and operations support.
An Update on the TMForum’s SDF Team’s Work on How to Manage New Services Including Content and Media
The TmForum has been working with a number of leading bodies in defining a high level SDF management model. This work has impacts on all of the internal TMForum products (TAM, eTOM, etc.) and needs close alignment with the work being done within other industry bodies. This presentation outlines the current status of the team’s work and the reasons why it is such a critical area.
Service ProviderService Delivery in the Web 2.0 World Using IMS
Although IMS promises to deliver services that converge wireless and wireline, the Web 2.0 world is now offering even more opportunities. The challenge for operators is to identify the “winning” services that they can quickly launch to market. Thus, operators need a platform to help them create, deliver and manage innovative and compelling new services that will enhance the user experience. This session will discuss the necessary relationship between IMS and service delivery platforms.

Service ProviderContent Encounter - Managing the Digital Marketplace
Turning the convergence of entertainment, information and communications services into a manageable and profitable “Digital Marketplace” is the key to sustainable growth. The players in these new value chains must find ways to forge a win-win business relationship or the customers will spend their money elsewhere. Content Encounter brings the communications & media industries together to ‘crack the code’ on the common technologies needed for achieving this goal. This groundbreaking, interactive demonstration will highlight TM Forum’s role in enabling new business models for multimedia content services and devices to succeed in the market.
Content Aggregation and Digital Distribution for Service Providers:Learnings from Movie Studios
With the explosion in content, service providers are racing to be the one-stop shop for entertainment across multiple channels and devices. However, this has brought along a whole new set of challenges in terms of evolving viable business models, managing unstable alliances with content providers and ensuring a consistent and compelling customer experience. This presentation will discuss several case studies from the entertainment industry on digital distribution and conclude with a number of conceptual frameworks that can help North American CSPs develop answers to the increasingly complex world of content.
Managing Off-Portal Content Delivery
Operators are finding it difficult to enhance their portfolio of 3rd party content for “On-Portal” content platforms. “Off-Portal” content delivery gives much-needed flexibility to manage the brand as well as IPR of content. This presentation discusses how a large European sports association implemented Off-Portal Content Delivery to monetize sports content delivery to over 24 countries, offer multimodal content delivery (SMS, MMS , WAP, GPRS, web) and provide simplified Partner Management and address IPR issues.

Delivering and Management of Convergent Services
The complexity of the ecosystem required to create and provision new services calls for a greatly extended value chain – beginning, in some cases, with the initial digitization of content, tagging and distribution of assets and delivery of consumable services across multiple networks to an explosion of devices. This presentation focuses on service provider success achieved in delivering and management of convergent services – discussing the complete services lifecycle utilizing a truly open service delivery platform approach.
Service ProviderPanel Discussion: Best Practices and Avoiding "Me Too" IPTV
The decision to invest in IPTV service is a turning point in the evolution of many service providers. A number of IPTV deployments have been mostly labeled as me too and some have experienced widely reported delays due to technical and operational problems – resulting in cost over-runs and scalability issues. This interactive panel will identify best practices and strategy from service providers and integrator on averting or resolving challenges and overcoming the “me too” syndrome.

Evolving Trends for Device Management -- OMA DM, DOCSIS and PacketCable
More and more customers want home multimedia centers with tight integration between PCs, TVs, set-top boxes, home automation equipment and wireless devices. This requires advances in service delivery with closely coupled management platforms for a multitude of devices. Attendees will learn about evolving trends for device management such as OMA DM, DOCSIS and PacketCable. The session will also discuss why standards integration will be critical for converged services like viewing video taken on a mobile phone on a TV via a STB.
Overarching Remote Device Management
A universal operating platform with standardized processes and open interfaces for the installation and operation of all of the users end devices is more of a vision than reality. From the user’s point of view this is however what convergence means. Here we will take a look at the challenges to be faced on the route to next generation Device Management from both the commercial and technology points of view, and we will critically examine the potential solutions which are presently envisaged.
Service ProviderManaging the Digital Home
A recent survey of US households shows 2/3 consumers try to solve digital home technology problems by themselves. Next generation subscribers require sophisticated customer care and management support from service providers, and consumer content mobility only adds more excitement to the picture. In this session, industry experts will discuss a broad spectrum of challenges that service providers face in managing the digital homes, including end user device management, service management as well as DRM.

This presentation will examine the security challenges created through transformation; how and why next-generation OSS will play a pivotal role in managing these business risks; and the pros/cons of the different solutions to address the current and looming challenges.
Applying the Broadcasters' IP Rights Management Experience to the Telecom Service Provider
IP Rights Management (IPM) is extensively being used and integrated within broadcasters' environments (assets management, broadcast scheduling). As Service Providers are moving into content delivery they would have to manage IP Rights in addition to the DRM only. This speech will present the operational model, based on broadcasters' experience, for incorporating IPM into OSS/BSS environment. Particular focus will be on the flow between DRM, SDP, Billing and IPM and the division of responsibilities.

But like all new online developments, there are also substantial risks and exposures that mirror real-world threats involving Trust, Identity, and Fraud. This presentation will explore the business opportunities and risks posed by virtual worlds and make some concrete technology and governance recommendations to take advantage of this new medium and govern its evolution.
Case Studies in Federated Identity Management
In the real world seemingly simple things like managing identities and accounts for partner companies’ users results in significant administrative overhead and is the main reason why companies cannot pursue flexible automation of business processes. Federated Identity Management is the set of business agreements, technical agreements and best practices that enable companies to optimally pursue their business interactions while lowering identity management costs and improving user experience.
Content Based Convergence Model and Application of Digital Rights Management
In the Media industry, content is the most important asset. There is a constant flow in large volumes of raw content of various types & formats, from different sources. Organizations need access to the raw content, put it in workflow, ultimately transforming raw content into publishable/distributable content in desired format and for defined distribution channel (print, web, mobile). The paper discusses a unique solution on Digital Rights Management that helps in providing an effective solution for the Media and Entertainment industry
