| Introducing IMS to Accelerate Creation and Delivery of Innovative Broadband Services: Showcase and Proof-of-Concept
IMS is well recognized and accepted as a powerful technology to create end-user services. Less clear is how to most efficiently introduce IMS into an existing legacy environment and turn IMS capabilities into tangible business benefits.
This presents the experiences from a Proof of Concept for introducing IMS and IMS-based end-user services across a complete environment – with multiple user devices, connected over different accesses, through the network infrastructure, to the IT systems for services execution and operations support.
Graduated 1999 at the University of Applied Sciences, Walter Maurer started within telecoms at the vendors end. Moved to mobilkom austria in 2001 he was responsible as project manager for strategic projects like Mobile Number Portability, IMS or Next Generation Intelligent Network.

Mr. Lenahan is a columnist and author of numerous papers in the areas of IMS, NGN, convergent services, and wireless services.
Service Delivery in the Web 2.0 World Using IMS
Although IMS promises to deliver services that converge wireless and wireline, the Web 2.0 world is now offering even more opportunities. The challenge for operators is to identify the “winning” services that they can quickly launch to market. Thus, operators need a platform to help them create, deliver and manage innovative and compelling new services that will enhance the user experience. This session will discuss the necessary relationship between IMS and service delivery platforms.
Michel Burger serves as the service architect for the Server & Tools division at Microsoft. He is responsible for defining the long-term vision and architecture for software as a service and service delivery solutions.
