Course Descriptions

This course addresses a growing need in today’s Service Provider environment: aligning the understanding of transformation drivers, tools and principles among business and IT representatives in the frame of business and IT transformation initiatives.

The Business Process Framework (eTOM) is at the heart of NGOSS. It provides the only standardized way within the telecoms industry to capture business processes. This course provides the attendee with a big picture view of the Business Process Framework and its use in business process transformation. The student will hear how the Business Process Framework has been used in successful projects. *Students will also take part in practical exercises aimed at enhancing the knowledge gained in the course (*does not apply to half-day version of the course).

The adoption of the Business Process Framework (eTOM) continues to increase within the telecommunications industry. As a result, there is a need to provide advanced training in how the framework can be extended/modified for use by an organization and in its practical use.

Cloud Essential is pleased to announce the Cloud Computing Seminar. Based on our working experiences to date in Cloud, this session will assist executives and senior managers to better understand Cloud Computing and in particular, the immediate and long term benefits of Cloud Private for medium/large enterprises. We also provide an overview of how executives and management in global enterprises can commence the implementation strategy/planning to realise the benefits from Cloud Private – immediately.

The Information Framework (SID) is the lingua franca for NGOSS. It is used to define in business and systems terms, the information that is utilized in OSS/BSS deployments. This course provides an overview of NGOSS and three of its cornerstones: the Business Process Framework (eTOM), the Information Framework (SID), and the Technology-Neutral Architecture.

The industry’s adoption of the Information Framework (SID) continues to increase. The Information Framework (SID) Modeller's Workshop offers attendees theory and practice on the use of the framework. Included is how the framework can be extended and implemented by applying modeling patterns and extension guidelines.

Billing is about the customer. It has moved from a back office function to a strategic role within an organization. Billing must now be a key component in the management of customers, enabling product bundling, allowing a single view of the customer and driving the fast introduction of new, billable products and services. Using the TM Forum Revenue Map and its relationship with the Business Process Framework (eTOM) as a reference tool, this course will provide a complete understanding of the environment that will support and enable converged, next generation services.

The TM Forum’s Solutions Frameworks (NGOSS) help address the challenges of managing telecommunications networks by providing a number of frameworks for the development of management applications. Complementing the Information Framework (SID), this workshop provides in‐depth study and hands-on experience of the development of interfaces to OSS applications using a design-pattern approach.

The IPsphere Framework delivers a business layer for rapid service delivery, including advanced support for IP services. Using the principles of a service-oriented architecture (SOA), the IPsphere Framework defines mechanisms to automate offers, purchase and provision service components among multiple stakeholders, enabling providers to optimize flexibility and efficiency. This course provides an introduction to the IPsphere Framework specification, its use case scenarios and an in-depth look at its global field trial implementation.

Revenue Assurance analysis is the proactive investigation of data and processes that impact the revenue stream. The objective is to identify errors and inefficiencies which contribute to a lack of quality in the fundamental elements upon which revenue and profit are generated. Data is the currency of the Telecommunications world, and processing this data accurately enables maximum financial benefit for the Service Provider.

This workshop provides students with an introduction to application integration frameworks and how to put the Information Framework (SID) to this use. Case studies depict how the framework is being used as part of an integration framework and exercises allow students to practice demonstrate the competencies obtained during the workshop.
