This workshop will give a brief introduction to the requirements for the Next Generation Network (NGN) including associated business drivers. It will then look in more detail at the architectures for NGN and NGN management - as are being specified by a number of industry fora and standards bodies. In particular, the possible application of TM Forum’s NGOSS technologies for NGN management will be outlined.

Issues concerning the common management of a variety of transport technologies to support the NGN’s IP infrastructure will also be discussed (based upon TM Forum’s “mTOP” developments).

The workshop will conclude with a general overview of industry groups and standards body contributions to NGN and NGN management
