The project will be based on the infrastructure and services created during the second phase from Nice MW 2008, and will focus primarily on Customer Experience management and SLA monitoring performed transparently across transport and enterprise resources. The project will use NGOSS contracts for cross-domain service provisioning and activation and will utilize the work accomplished by TMF’s SLA Management Team on SLA and customer experience management across enterprise and telecommunication domains. It will address the capacity and quality management issues associated with n-play service offerings, including business services (Enterprise services) by Service Providers, the process of planning and maintaining the service ready networked resource, both network and IT to ensure that the correct capacity of the correct quality at the correct locations is available, so that services can be simply turned on. It will demonstrate an application of complex inter-domain event processing as part of an Assurance solution.
Customer’s service fulfillment and assurance for this project will include provisioning/activation of IP-based network resources with underlying Ethernet transport (PBB-TE, commonly known as PBT), blade-based network elements, business applications and end-user devices.
A range of interface technologies will be used in a project:
• the existing TIP MTOSI interface to configure, activate and monitor the next generation PBT backbone technology in a mixed vendor network
• the exploratory work from the TIP Technical Coordination team to deal with the message task body
• the existing CIM/WBEM/WSDM interfaces to activate and configure IP Transport Network, blade-based network elements, applications-supporting IT equipment, applications and end-user devices
• traditional NE interfaces to activate and monitor the actual network
The project will provide a walk through from a small set of specific detailed NGOSS contracts (Inventory, Fulfillment and Assurance Use Cases) through a set of rationalized mappings (SID-CIM, TIP-CIM) to specific interface messaging in a real live management solution.
