What the project will achieve
It will demonstrate the feasibility of deploying devices of several manufacturers in a secure zero-touch deployment manner across the internet.
It will outline the existing industry gaps and the work to be done in order to transform the zero-touch deployment into an industry standard.
The zero-touch deployment demo will include a simulation for remotely connected third party router/modem (from any broadband provider – DSL, cable, wireless, satellite broadband), router, IP phone and wireless phone-handset. The devices will be from different device manufacturers.
The expected output will be – all the devices deployed with zero-touch or near-zero-touch effort and connected over the ISP’s link to the enterprise corporate network.
We can include an invited panel discussion about the industry gaps.
Why it needs to be done
The market for zero-touch deployment for remote gateway, voice and video devices over Internet is large and growing, across all the large corporate enterprise verticals, e.g. real estate and banking, so this represents a significant business opportunity for TM Forum members in many categories.
The potential benefit to the industry
The demo will demonstrate the feasibility of zero-touch deployment as an industry standard. It will guide the device manufacturers in their new developments, to enable the business for the ISPs and system integrators to deliver managed and unmanaged services, reducing the total cost of ownership to the enterprise using it.
