Nearly 70 new features and enhancements help service providers navigate the digital storm by enabling business agility and cross-industry partnerships for profitable digital service delivery

Frameworx 13 was officially released on Tuesday, May 14th at Management World 2013 in Nice, France.and represents the next step in the evolution of TM Forum best practices and standards. It introduces new thinking and approaches that demonstrate our commitment to helping our members succeed and emerge as leaders in the new digital world.

Adopted by 90% of the world’s largest service providers, TM Forum Frameworx continues to be the most widely used blueprint for effective, efficient business operations.

This release was developed by hundreds of individuals from more than 200 TM Forum member companies across 38 collaborative project teams and it resulted in close to 70 new features and enhancements to the core frameworks all designed to help service providers gain operational agility, reduce cost and risk, improve customer retention and grow new lines of business through innovation and partnerships.

Release 13 Highlights

The features in Frameworx 13 focus on three major challenges facing service providers today:

#1. Improving operational agility while reducing cost and risk

#2. Improving market retention and growth

  • A new Big Data Analytics Reference Model defines the major components needed for implementation of big data solutions, and outlines 23 real-life use cases where big data analytics provide true business value to service providers.
  • The Customer Experience Management Index (CEMI) provides an aggregate, independent measure for C-level executives to understand if their business is performing at, above or below the expected industry average

#3. Driving new digital services revenue growth

  • An Introductory Guide to the Digital Services Reference Architecture provides an initial view of a standardized architecture to deliver open and interoperable enterprise-grade virtualized services
  • Business Partnering Guide provides practical advice to companies operating in the digital ecosystem on how to create and manage sustainable partnerships.
  • M2M Charging & Billing technical report examines the business models across industries to arrive at examples and pricing models for M2M services.
  • An eHealth Technical Report defines the players in the eHealth value chain and their interactions, and defines the roadmap for the management challenges that will need to be addressed in the upcoming 18 months.
  • Technical updates to the Simple Management API upgrade the code to REST level 2 and continue to evolve the API to meet the needs of the market for standardization and ease of use.
