Wednesday and Thursday at Management World promise to be cloudy, but we’re not talking about the weather in Nice or volcanic ash clouds. Rather, the climate inside the Acropolis Convention Center will be full of clouds as the Enabling Profitable Cloud Services Summit offers a full slate of conference sessions.
On Wednesday, the first morning session focuses on the enterprise will feature topics such as the cloud as a business game changer with Sean Kelley of Deutsche Bank; Database as a Service with Jon Waldron of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia; and a progress report on the Enterprise Cloud Leadership Council (ECLC) from Eric Pulier, executive director of the ECLC.
The next session will look at the cloud ecosystem from requirements to delivery. Featured speakers will be Sean Kelley, Nick Holdsworth of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, K.B. Chandrasekhar of Jamcracker, Brian Klingbeil of Savvis and Steve Mannel of Salesforce.com. After that, attendees will hear about delivering on the big promise of cloud with Dave Wright of VMWare, Bob Natale or MITRE, Michael Lawrey of Telstra and Bill Ahlstrom of CA.
The next session on Wednesday will focus on creating and monetizing innovative cloud services. Speakers include Debra Osswald of IBM, Vincenzo Asaro of Telecom Italia Group, Jabir Shaikh or BT Group and Jennifer Faulkner of Oracle.
The final session of Wednesday is chaired by Ian Best of Eyelbe and will take a look at the impact and opportunity of telecom providers becoming cloud providers. Featured speakers include Joe Weinman or AT&T, Russell Wurth or Verecloud, Gary Bruce of BT Group, Donald Toland of Qwest Communications and Colin l’Anson and Richard Arthur of HP.
On Thursday, the first session of the cloud summit will look at the opportunities, business models and requirements for cloud providers. Chaired by Grace Schroeder of Idea2, attendees to this morning session will hear from Leonard Donnelly of Location Bridge, Mark Basham or Intune Networks, Michael Lawrey of Telstra, Monique Jeanne Morrow of Cisco and Elisabeth Rainge of IDC.
The final cloud session of Management World will delve into the operations and standards for cloud services. Con Blackett of RiverMuse will chair, and speakers will include Enrico Ronco of Telecom Italia Group, David McCallum of BT Group, Andy Waterhouse of EMC and Stefan McKenzie of Cordys.
