The SOX catalyst is leveraging the benefits of NGOSS to implement a scalable, cost-effective, standards-based compliance solution.
Service providers are faced with high costs related to compliance with the provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX).  The SOX Catalyst aims is to demonstrate how NGOSS standards can be used to structure and simplify efforts to deliver SOX compliance, thereby lowering the cost, or “SOX Tax”, associated with compliance.

The Catalyst will focus on a constrained business scenario and related NGOSS components to illustrate generalized capabilities for leveraging NGOSS standards to deliver SOX compliance.  The business scenario will be used as a basis to:

    1. describe a blueprint for how NGOSS can be mapped to SOX in order to facilitate compliance with SOX requirements
    2. demonstrate the use of NGOSS constructs, specifically the eTOM and SID models, in an application that uses NGOSS to implement compliance through routine, automated business processes
    3. document the NGOSS enhancements that will be required to fully leverage NGOSS to enable SOX compliance

The business scenario for the SOX Catalyst is focused on management of the matching of purchasing costs and transactions for partner-provided services to customer invoice revenues and transactions for specific time intervals and volumes.
