10:30am | Customer Experience Summit | Threat Detection and Mitigation - As part of the effort to assure network service reliability, AT&T analyzes Internet traffic behavior for leading indicators of network attack activity and tracks the behavior of malicious activities such as botnets. The presentation will outline some of the unique analysis techniques in use and will discuss some recent examples of network security events and trends. Techniques that can be used to help identify and control these threats will be included in the discussion.

Most CSPs with roots in the IT domain tend to lean on the ITIL framework for additional SP capabilities. This paper defines and discusses how the eTOM framework is more applicable as a CSP business framework and ITIL as a good 'control' framework. Secondly the ITIL framework is not only applicable in the Enterprise Management layer of eTOM, but is also equally applicable in the other layers of eTOM.
