TM Forum Management World China, which was held in Beijing on September 3 and 4, was a resounding success for all who attended. With the theme of “Delivering Innovation and Managing Growth,” the event fulfilled its promise of focusing on the importance of ensuring that the creation, delivery and management of services is done in a sustainable way that will allow operators to evolve as their markets mature without massive cost overheads and barriers to innovation.
The conference featured a number of presentations from local operators such as China Mobile, China Telecom, China Netcom and Shanghai Oriental Cable Networks, as well as from international speakers from 14 other countries representing such providers as BT Group and T-Mobile Hungary.
The two-day conference and expo, which was twice the size of last year’s event in China, attracted many attendees from around the world.
The conference also saw a number of interesting case studies from around the world highlighting advances in automating business processes and managing new, media and entertainment services.
“The challenges of simultaneously coping with massive growth in the world's biggest mobile market and developing new, innovative services like lessons learned from operators in the West that short-cuts taken during high growth periods can significantly stifle service innovation when the market starts to saturate,” says Willetts. “A clear target systems and process architecture, in line with TM Forum recommendations, is key to avoiding these problems.” |
