2012 Excellence Awards Frequently Asked Questions


 

Q. What are the TM Forum Excellence Awards? TM Forum's Excellence Awards recognize operational and business excellence through use of the Forum's best practices and standards by member companies across the communications and media industries. The Awards provide a unique opportunity to demonstrate leadership, expertise and initiatives to the industry.

For 2012, there are four award categories including Business Innovation, Industry Leadership, Operation Excellence and Solution Excellence.

The presentation of the Awards takes place at TM Forum's Management World 2012 conference, in Dublin, Ireland.

Q. What's the history of the Awards? TM Forum has a long history of rewarding industry leadership by its members. In 2012, we will mark the sixth annual TM Forum Excellence Awards.

Q. What are the benefits of entering the Awards?There are a number of benefits to being acknowledged as a nominee, finalist or winner of the TM Forum Excellence awards. All qualified entries will be featured on our website. Once selected, finalists will receive additional exposure, such as inclusion in the Excellence Awards handbook and the opportunity to present your entry in Forumville at Management World 2012, May 21-24 in Dublin, Ireland.

Q. Who can enter the Awards? The Awards are open to all TM Forum member companies: suppliers, application developers, software suppliers, network operators, service providers and system integrators. Eligibility descriptions vary by category, so please visit individual awards categories for more information.

Q. How do I enter the Awards? All Award entries must be submitted via the online entry form, which is available on the TM Forum 2012 Excellence Awards website. On this site, you will have the opportunity to begin the submission process and return later to edit your entry. All submissions must be finalized by February 10, 2012 (5 p.m. EST), when the nomination period closes.

Q. How many Award entries can I submit? There is no limit to the number of entries per category, or the number of categories in which you can submit. However, we recommend careful consideration of the Entry Check List for each category before making your submission, to ensure you meet the minimum criteria.

Q. Do I have to be a member of the TM Forum to enter the Awards? Yes. Your company must be a current TM Forum member in good standing. To confirm that your company is a TM Forum member, please see the member list.

Q. When can I enter? Entries for the TM Forum 2012 Excellence Awards opened on December 5, 2011. See the awards category pages for specific submission information. Completed entry forms must be received by February 10, 2012 (5 p.m. EST) for all award categories.

Q. Will I be sent an acknowledgment and/or receipt for my entry? Once you have completed your entry form(s), you will receive confirmation via e-mail.

Q. Will finalists be announced? If so, when? The finalists in each category will be notified by March 23, 2012, in order to have time to make arrangements to attend the Awards ceremony.

Q. When will the winners be announced? The winners will be announced at TM Forum's Management World 2012 conference in Dublin, Ireland.

Q. Who are the judges? The independent panel of judges is comprised of leading industry and subject matter experts, analysts and investors. To ensure objectivity, TM Forum staff members do not participate in the judging process, except for the purposes of confirming stated facts, such as participation or contribution of resources to TM Forum collaborative R&D activities.

For 2012, the winners of the following categories will be decided by an impartial group of expert judges; TM Forum Industry Leadership Award, TM Forum Business Innovation Award, TM Forum Operational Excellence Award. Finalists for the Solution Excellence Award will be agreed upon by the judging panel to meet the eligibility criteria, then the winner will voted upon by the more than 200 TM Forum global service provider members.

Q. How does the judging process work? Entries will be judged against the criteria outlined in each of the category descriptions and the specific information requested on the entry forms. Discussions and decisions will be based solely on the information supplied. All discussions, scoring, and other details will be kept confidential.

Q. When will the judging process begin? The judging process takes place in February and March 2012 for all award categories.

Q. When and where does the Awards Ceremony take place? The TM Forum 2012 Excellence Award winners will be announced at TM Forum's Management World 2012 in Dublin, Ireland. Information is available on www.tmforum.org/awards

Q. How can my company get involved in the Awards as a sponsor? We offer an exclusive TM Forum Excellence Awards sponsorship. Sponsoring companies for award categories will not be eligible to enter any of the categories. Please contact Bill Metzger at bmetzger@tmforum.org.

Q. Will my entry be kept confidential? The information supplied in your entry will be held confidential. Anything public will be approved by the submitting company prior to being posted or printed.
