TM Forum Online Training FAQs

Q. What is Online Training?
Selected TM Forum training courses are being introduced in online versions in 2011. These courses are versions of our popular classroom training courses which have been redesigned to be suitable for online delivery.

Framework Overview is the first available course. Initially it will be in English with other languages offered over time.

Q. How does it work?
Students can view training material online through the TM Forum web-based training delivery platform.

The course is delivered in voice-over-powerpoint format and presented in modules. Students can exit the training and resume where they left off at a later time. The modules can be completed in any order the student desires.

Once registered for a course students can access the course as often as they like during the following 90 days. Cookies will be set up when you start to view the training materials online so you must complete the training on the same machine you start it on.


Q. Do I need special software?
Access is through the TM Forum website and no special software is required.

Training is flash based and can be accessed on machines that support flash.


Q. How can I register?
There are two ways to register. You can simply visit the online training registration page, select your preferred course and pay for the course using your credit card. The selected course will be made available to you immediately and will be available for 90 days after you register.

Alternatively, companies may purchase blocks of seats for a course. An e-voucher will be issued that provides pre-paid registration for the course for the number of seats purchased by the company. The e-voucher is valid for 150 days and distribution of the evoucher is at the company’s control.

Anyone in possession of the e-voucher code can register to the course during the 150 day period up to the maximum number of seats purchased by the company. Once registered, the course will be made available immediately and will be available for 90 days after registration.

For additional security, employees using the evoucher must register using their business email address e.g using a valid email domain provided to the TM Forum by the company.


Q. My company is a TM Forum Member. Can I get a discount?
Yes. All members qualify automatically for a 20% discount off the cost of the course. There are additional discounts avaiable to companies who make bulk purchases of seats. Contact education@tmforum.org for more information on these discounts.


Q. Will I be certified if I complete online training?
You will get a certificate of completion for the course which you can download and print.

Some online training courses also have Knowledge Certification Exams that the student can take. These exams are available to TM Forum members only and are also part of the Career Certification tracks. Unless otherwise stated, the cost of sitting an exam at a TM Forum event (such as at a Training Roadshow or a Management World event) is included in the training price.

The student should register for the exam separately.

Arrangements are being put in place to facilitate group exam sessions at company premises soon.

Exams are not available online at this time.

Exams are only available to you if your company is a TM Forum member company.


Q. When can I take exams?
You can arrange to sit an exam at any TM Forum training event. This includes TM Forum Training Roadshows, Management World events and regional workshop events. A schedule for upcoming courses and exams can be found here.

Q. What if I have questions, can I email them to the instructor? What is the expected turnaround?
Questions about online course content may be emailed to the instructor and a link is provided on the course page. Every attempt will be made to answer your question within 2 working days and commonly asked questions will be gathered into a document and posted on the online training site.

There is also a support link provided should you require technical support or have any difficulty accessing the online training material. Technical queries will receive response within one working day.
