| Description and purpose: The Resource Alarm Management (RAM) interface was started as harmonization work between the TM Forum OSS/J FM API and the TM Forum MTOSI RTM DDP. It is now part of the scope of the harmonization work with 3GPP. Based on the harmonization discussions held so far, we have achieved a good harmonized model from a semantics point of view.
The RAM interface will provide an harmonized interface between OSS/J, MTOSI and 3GPP, with harmonization at model level that can be used as basis for inter-operation between heterogeneous components deployed in a Service Provider environment. This interface model will be aligned with the SID and will be using the Interface Development tooling.
One of the profiles of this interface will be a Simple Alarm Reporting profile, allowing easy collection of alarms from EMSs.
It is also expected that these interfaces will be basic building blocks of future contracts. Maintenance of the OSS/J and MTOSI PM interfaces is also under the responsibility of this team. For more information refer to the Project Charter. Scope of the Project This project covers fault management at resource level, covering
inputs from OSS/J, MTOSI and 3GPP. It builds on the harmonization study
(Feature Description Document) on FM done between OSS/J and MTOSI and
the harmonization work done with 3GPP.
The scope of the RAM interface is highlighted on the figure below with
main processes in yellow, participating processes in light yellow and
interfaces in red. Click on the image below to see a larger version. Business Benefits The RAM interface will provide an harmonized interface between OSS/J,
