GB921, Business Process Framework Suite, Release 8.1

The TM Forum Business Process Framework (commonly known as eTOM) describes all the enterprise processes required by a service provider. It serves as the masterplan for process direction and provides a neutral reference point for internal process reengineering needs, partnerships, alliances, and general working agreements with other providers.
The Business Process Framework has also being incorporated into ITU-T Recommendation M.3050 and has been approved and published by ITU-T as a new international standard.

This Release 8.1 is a fix release of the major Business Process Framework Release 8.0 which built on previous releases with updates in three main areas:

  • Implementation of Recommendations of the previously-published TR143 “Building Bridges, ITIL & eTOM” to embed ITIL processes in the Business Process Framework
  • Process updates affecting the “Billing” column in Operations, reflecting updates from Global Billing Association work, through the Revenue Management Team
  • Introduction of a new GB921G document, “Guide to Applying the Business Process Framework (eTOM)”, that provides advice and guidance for Business Process Framework users. This is a working document and is expected to evolve through review and comment following this publication.
