ConceptWave Solution Platform for Videotron, ConceptWave Order & Product Lifecycle Management Solution

ConceptWave – About Us

ConceptWave is a leading provider of lifecycle management solutions enabling the introduction of new market offers in record time for communications service providers (CSPs) and operators across multiple market segments globally.

With proven reference-able installations worldwide, our catalog-driven order fulfillment solutions enable customers to immediately re-tune or change existing offers to meet competitive needs and simplify the managing of service orders found across wireless, cable/MSO, broadband data, fixed wireline, voice, and unified networks.

We have a strong relationship with our partners.  Most notably, we are the long-standing cornerstone of Telcordia’s global provisioning solution, as well as recipients of HP’s coveted Partner of the Year Award – two years running (2008, 2009).  Additionally, we are pleased to be recognized as an IBM Preferred Partner.

ConceptWave is a leading supporter and promoter of open TM Forum standards. A hallmark in proven customer installations, our products extensively employ the SID data reference model. Using SID-compliant industry models and a standards approach, we can provide our customers with an agile framework that easily addresses legacy integration and migration challenges leading to accelerated implementation.  As an industry leader, we are proud to soon achieve complete TM Forum SID certification (spring 2010).

By closely following SID-compliant interface models and a standards approach, the implementation of ConceptWave Order Care™ solution has provided our customers with the ability to combine web-based order entry at the front-end with a superior product catalog and order management engine, to help orchestrate the order fulfillment process in the operations back-office. Due to customer-centric interfaces modeled after TM Forum best practices, CSPs now easily utilize metadata-configurable templates and a business rules engine to model specific business requirements to accelerate product delivery and service assurance.

We are proud of our business relationships and global customers, enabling them proven value and performance. In-production customers include over 20 of the world’s leading service providers, many of them tackling the challenges of being convergent: AT&T, Bell, Belgacom, Bezia, Broadwing, Charter, Colt, Comcast, Easynet, Hrvatski Telekom, Maingate, Nuvox, PT, Rogers, Sky, Sparkle Telecom, STC, SwissCom, Telemar, TDC, VideoTron, and growing.

MESURABLE BUSINESS BENEFITS

There have been immediate measureable business benefits for the CSP in conjunction with ConceptWave’s close adherence to TM Forum standards.
The results have been significant ROI and operational savings across the entire project. The CSP’s market competitiveness has also improved resulting in higher revenue.
Our solution to date has directly benefitted the CSP’s day-to-day business operations translating into the following measureable results:

  • Reduced time-to-market for new product bundle launches from months to (4) days.
  • Marked increase in ARPU of 3%.
  • Increased subscriber loyalty and retention.
  • Successfully able to process 8-million order transactions per business month.
  • Service-assurance across the complete back-end order fulfillment process with now greater than 95% order completion rates.
  • “Order kick-outs” have been significantly reduced from 40% to less than 5%.
  • CSRs are now focusing on up-sell and cross-sell opportunities rather than order trouble-shooting and customer call-backs.
  • Training time for new CSRs has been reduced from 6 weeks to 3 days.

Marked increase in customer competitiveness and service satisfaction. The CSP product and marketing departments are now confidently able to re-arrange existing offers, or introduce new bundles and services within days, as opposed to weeks, increasing the CSP’s market competitiveness, revenue base and customer satisfaction.

PROVEN GLOBAL REFERENCE Customers – ONE EXAMPLE

VideoTron, a leading convergent North American cable/communications service provider (CSP) and multi-service operator (MSO) used our solution to improve their order orchestration and fulfillment in a business transformation project that has undergone many successful trials and in-production phases since 2007, to the point, where today, the CSP has fully integrated ConceptWave’s complete solution (ConceptWave Order Care™) into their BSS and OSS environment, with still further value-added work ahead.

The CSP used ConceptWave’s solution to, “Leverage an Enterprise Product Catalog Strategy to Consolidate and Simplify the Selling/Ordering of Residential Quad-Play Services.”  As VideoTron’s Chief Executive, Robert Depatie, states, “Year after year, offering our customers the best possible experience remains the Vidéotron team's top priority.

The CSP had a number of business challenges, namely, an in-house BSS/OSS system that was, as our customer put it, “strained under the weight of its business growth and success.” As the customer noted:

  • It was a legacy subscriber system designed originally only for cable.
  • It was difficult and costly to fulfil multi-play orders, requiring heavy manual intervention.
  • It had high incidents of “order kick-outs” and “revenue leakage.”
  • New product introduction and offers were taking too long to “operational-ize and bring to market.”
  • 1800 CSRs focused on order-taking and trouble-shooting rather than up-selling and cross-selling.
  • It took 6 weeks to train a new CSR on the old system. And Videotron churned their CSRs at a rate of 50% per year. This translates into a large aggregate operational cost.
  • A strategic imperative of the CSP was to deploy a globally recognized standards-based system for B/OSS.

To rapidly achieve cost-effective go-to-market offerings, the CSP needed an integrated product catalog and order management solution that could provide a flexible and agile platform to grow with its business and strategic corporate growth objectives, while accommodating dynamic market and end-user demands.
The CSP turned to ConceptWave to enable a production-proven product catalog management platform for the company’s products and services. As part of its strategic initiative to streamline the delivery of integrated convergent content services including cable, internet, telephony and television.
With standard, optimized interfaces and B/OSS interface contracts, the CSP is now able to accelerate the time-to-market of new service and product offerings and significantly reduce order errors.
