About the Revenue Management Initiative

The Revenue Management Initiative (the ‘RMI’) grew from the Revenue Management Council (now disbanded) and previously from the Global Billing Association (GBA) Council. The GBA transitioned into the TM Forum in 2007 and the establishment of this initiative represents the final stage of full integration of the GBA and its functions into the TM Forum.

The mission of the RMI is to provide a platform on which the revenue management issues of service providers can be fully discussed and vendor neutral solutions examined.

The RMI will review existing TM Forum collaborative activities with respect to their relevance to revenue management requirements. It will drive additional work within the Collaboration Program to extend its work as necessary.

The vision of the RMI is to be the de-facto forum for discussion of revenue management functions around the world. As the perceived boundaries of BSS and OSS diminish the RMI, as part of the TM Forum will provide insight, thought leadership and guidance for the new world that emerges.

The initial scope of the RMI was to drive the existing work of the GBA into the TM Forum structure and deliverables (mostly completed) and to continue to update the existing Solution Frameworks (NGOSS). The RMI will take the responsibility for driving all revenue management aspects with the TM Forum. It is aware of the ongoing excellent work of the Revenue Assurance Team which now operates under the broader RMI umbrella. It will continue to build on the work of the Revenue Assurance Team and will provide support for its mature and widely adopted output.
