If you like ducks, the Peabody Orlando was the place to see them splashing around in the hotel lobby fountain. But if you're interested in the opportunities and challenges of growing revenue in today’s highly competitive market, then Management World Americas in the hotel was the place to be this week. In this issue of Inside Track, we look at some of the insightful sessions and real-world case studies that some of the 1,200 attendees experienced firsthand. Whether it was one of the seven real-world Catalyst projects, keynote sessions from industry experts, conference sessions and intensive debates on subjects ranging from cloud and cable to revenue management and optimizing customer experience, this was a week to talk, share ideas, learn from peers and even see a few ducks up close.

Businesses will also be able to provide interactive and targeted content to consumers through NFC-enabled digital signage located at more than 600 locations in major shopping malls and office buildings throughout Singapore.
In Orlando this week, 1,200 delegates saw real ducks in the Peabody fountain, with the theme carried throughout the property. But the other pervasive themes this week were focused on the opportunities and challenges of growing revenue in today’s highly competitive market.
On Tuesday afternoon at Management World Americas, attendees were treated to a panel discussion on smart grid, a subject that hasn’t typically been top of mind for telecom workers, but is increasingly becoming of more and more interest.
At the session keynote of the New Services in Cable Summit on Wednesday morning, Stefan Berg, CIO of Com Hem, the largest MSO in Sweden, gave an informative talk on how his company – which has 1.8 million subscribers – adopted ‘lean’ principles in order to improve processes and reduce waste.
