This project utilized a Catalyst implementation to validate the use of selected NGOSS principles, to develop commercially viable, multi-vendor, integrated Operations and Business Support Systems for new generation networks.  The project was awarded the status of being NGOSS Powered as a result of successfully demonstrating the use of a shared Data Model and a common data/messaging bus.

Several benefits to Service Providers, System Integrators, Software Vendors and Hardware Vendors were identified.  A few of these were:

• Existing processes can be extended to manage IP based and 2.5/3G wireless services
• Enables Service Providers to assess IP based and 2.5/3G wireless services maturity to address strategic direction for deployment
• Enables a Plug and Play approach to management of different domains
• Demonstrated streamlined Service Management Operations and Deployment enabling rapid service introduction
• Identification of real time data requirements (parameter, application, equipment)
