The catalyst project explores the application of emerging standards such as New Generation OSS (NGOSS). It also demonstrates how the NGOSS principles of eTOM and SID can be used to improve the fulfillment processes and share the information amongst processes. The eTOM processes are layered keeping into account the different players in the Telecom Domain from the business as well as the operations perspective.
The project demonstrated the IPTV service fulfillment considering CHT’s systems so that these in house built systems may carry out the Service Fulfillment. It is supposed to make use of distinct customer, product, and service and resource inventory. The architecture is in accordance with NGOSS principles so that it can be easily made extensible to the Assurance and Billing verticals of the eTOM.
