OSS/BSS professionals including: information architects, data base administrators, enterprise solution architects, application developers, and solution providers.
Pre-requisites:
  • A general awareness of the TM Forum and its work;
  • A intermediate understanding of the Unified Modeling Language (UML);
  • A basic understanding of the TM Forum Information Framework (SID).
Length: One day
Technology Being Taught:
  • Achieving NGOSS goals by using the TM Forum Information Framework (SID);
  • The application of Information Framework (SID) modeling patterns and guidelines for extending and implementing the framework;
  • Opportunities for using the framework.
Upon completion, delegates will be able to:
  • Describe how the TM Forum Information Framework (SID) can be used to achieve NGOSS goals;
  • Describe the Information Framework (SID) modeling patterns and how they can be used;
  • Employ the guidelines when extending/implementing the framework;
  • Transform the framework information model to the framework data model;
  • Identify opportunities for using the framework;
  • Quantitatively justify the use of the framework.

Instructor:

John P. Reilly
John P. Reilly is member of the TM Forum’s technical staff and a master trainer for the TM Forum. Part of his technical staff responsibilities include facilitating the work of the TM Forum Information Framework (SID) program as well as contributing to the NGOSS Knowledge Certification program. In November 2005 John was elevated to Distinguished Fellow* of the TM Forum in recognition of his contribution to the development of NGOSS and the Information Framework (SID). He is also the program lead for the OSS/J Community’s Core Business Entity Model project and a member of the OSS/J Product Team. John is a frequent speaker on telecommunications standards direction, project management, business modeling, and rapid software development techniques. He is the author and co-author of a number of books and articles on these subjects; including the ground-breaking book “NGOSS: Distilled”. John holds degrees in mathematics and systems engineering.
