Use Case Insights: Building Brand Affinity and Customer Loyalty using Effective Policy and Charging Technologies

In other industries, companies such as Apple, Starbucks, Disney and BMW enjoy extreme customer loyalty and brand affinity. In general, communications companies have yet to approach these levels. However, with the right policy and charging tools, Service Providers can build brand affinity and customer loyalty – turning customer interactions from reactive to proactive with personalized relevant services and highly targeted promotions. Through integration with social media, service providers can creatively leverage their customers’ social relationships to attract new customers. They can also use tightly integrated analytics to precisely target promotions at well-defined narrow customer segments. Policy can become a tool to increase customer satisfaction and reduce churn by enabling personalized services, such as, parental control of their children’s phone usage or by establishing policy and charging rules to exempt social media usage from standard charges.

Developing Collaborative Approaches to Efficiently Delivering Smart Grid

The move to Smart Grid is a massive business transformation undertaking similar to the one telecom has undergone. There are numerous parallels between these 2 industries in terms of their network-based service legacy, operational environment and business models with IT at the center of it all. This workshop is designed to facilitate an exchange of experiences and challenges between telecom and energy industry executives in order to identify areas where cooperation may prove effective in reducing costs, improving service and speeding the delivery of timely solutions. This workshop will also provide audience members with tangible action points they can put to use immediately. Attendees will:
  • Learn to implement best practice for managing large communications-intensive solutions and high volume transactions
  • Examine case studies and experiences of using Frameworx in the Energy sector for internal business cases
  • Discuss how the Smart Energy Leadership Council can scope up enhancements to Frameworks to address energy pain points
  • Identify benchmarking criteria to drive IT investment decision
