The TM Forum’s first event of 2009 will also be a first for Asia.
Management World Asia to be held in Singapore in January not only aims to bring the industry’s thought leadership to the leaders of industry but also to provide a meeting space to share ideas.
Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent that is home to 60% of the world’s people. The Asian telco market is constantly referred to in superlatives as well – the fastest growing, the biggest, the most dynamic, the most advanced, etc, etc. Sure, it is all of this, but by far its most interesting feature is its diversity.
With over fifty countries and almost as many languages spread from Asia Minor to the Pacific Ocean and Siberia to Tasmania (Australia likes to think it is part of Asia these days), Asia really is diverse. The challenge for the TM Forum in holding an event like Management World is to tailor a program that will have as broad an appeal as the market it is addressing. Early indications are that it will be quite unique with some outstanding keynotes already in place.
What will differentiate this event from others is that operators from across Asia will be able to share their experiences with others at differing stages of development and maturity. This is because we have almost every telecommunications technology at play somewhere in Asia today – from the most basic fixed line service to the most advanced wireless technologies. If you can name it, it’s being used somewhere. The markets themselves are at varying stages of maturity as well. The newer players are keen to learn from the more mature compatriots and the high-flyers will be more than happy to share their experiences with them.
This is all kept in context by the TM Forum’s approach of its members jointly developing processes that can be freely used by any member of the TM Forum community. The TM Forum will also include international service providers in the event to show real life examples of how the TM Forum processes are being used within their organizations. Unlike other industry events, Management World is all about sharing, and this will be the underlying theme in Singapore.
These are some compelling reasons to get a better understanding of what the Asian market has to offer and why attending TM Forum’s Management World Asia in January is a must. There is so much to see and learn and the venue will provide an excellent environment to network and interact with the leading players on the continent. See you there!
