Today’s competitive landscape is driving cable operators toward increasingly complex product offerings as well as raising customer expectations for service level excellence. More Details This Catalyst will provide a ‘Quick Start’ Pack that will show the business processes necessary to deliver ‘TV Everywhere’ using the Frameworx business process model (eTOM). Common Cable concepts have been mapped to Frameworx so that those from a Cable background can quickly get to grips with the Quick Start pack.
Two demonstration systems will showcase this ‘Cable Quick Start Pack’ at work.
First, vendors will demonstrate how a “TV Everywhere” service can be rapidly designed, delivered and fulfilled on top of the subscriber’s existing digital services. The main objective of this demonstration is to validate that Frameworx Certified, pre-integrated and productized BSS/OSS solution stack can deliver new cable services efficiently, and at the same time de-risk OSS/BSS transformation by sharing the investment with and leveraging the experience of other industry segments, in particular mobile and wireline telecom operators, cloud services providers and convergent services providers. Therefore, the core of the demonstration system is Oracle’s Rapid Offer Design and Order Delivery, the first solution that has received TM Forum’s Frameworx Conformance Solution Certification.
Second, building on the work presented in Dublin, the Catalyst will also show how content can be monetized for all those involved in the value chain, from creators and aggregators to MSOs. This will address the complexities of AAA, multi-sided billing, Service Delivery at requested Qos, QoS validation and settlement via IPDR “E” interface. The IPDR standard has been mapped to the Frameworx common Data Model (SID). This allows the IPDR, common in MSO environments, to be manipulated by other Frameworx processes and applications so that Cable Operators can benefit from other CSPs using Frameworx.
