The Service Delivery Framework (SDF) program is addressing the industry challenge of producing an effective environment for the delivery of next-generation services to customers. The SDF will support and integrate all the management functions required through the Service Lifecycle, across converging technologies and multiple stakeholders.
In order to meet this industry need, TM Forum is working in collaboration with other Industry Groups that are working in areas that are closely related to development of the SDF Reference Model in a number of key areas. The purpose of the Reference Model is to gain industry agreement on the “landscape” of the SDF and within TM Forum to lay the foundation on which to produce detailed requirements for SDF Lifecycle Management. The Reference Model builds on existing TM Forum frameworks and leverages other pertinent Industry Group initiatives.
Particular areas of involvement by other Industry Groups are in:
- Information (customer, service, and management)
- Service creation, innovation, management and architecture
- Management of multiple stakeholders and providers
- Management of multiple resource and IT technologies
- Resource management and network architecture
- Mobility
- International and regional standards
It is expected that, as the SDF work progresses, there will be involvement from other Industry Groups in other specific areas.
A series of Workshops and regular conference calls are being held by the SDF team in order to place Industry Group contributions into the SDF Reference Model and into an associated positioning document.
