In order to ensure operational and financial efficiency, the Revenue Assurance process must ensure the data integrity and synchronization across all the disparate systems and the network itself. Such processes provide analysis of the relationship between network resources, services, customers, generated revenue, and will enable the service provider to detect revenue leakage (e.g. un-billed customers, miss-billed customers), stranded assets, and operational inefficiencies.
Currently there is no industry accepted standard for measuring revenue assurance status neither for internal purposes nor for benchmarking purposes. The result is that many operators do not have a clear, concise, and full view of their RA status. This lack of appropriate information seriously hinders the operator’s ability to detect revenue leakages and make appropriate decisions regarding those leakages.
The Revenue assurance modeling team is making progress with defining basic concepts and best practices. Recently they developed a proposal for standardization of RA KPI’s. The project includes a hierarchy of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's), at Strategic, Tactical and Operational level. These measurements will enable service providers to have a complete view of the RA status, analyze trends, and consistent ways to benchmark themselves against other operators.
This Catalyst project will implement RA team proposal, and test its applicability in a real life situation. The results of this catalyst will be fed back into the RA team work.
