The arrival of Internet Service Delivery Platforms (SDPs) is introducing dynamism to the traditional TM Forum models at an unprecedented degree. The relationship between OSS and BSS systems is no longer static.

In the traditional resource-oriented models, static mappings that describe a fixed relationship between a given service and a set of underlying resources are quite adequate for most telephony services. However, when services are very dynamic (as with Web 2.0 or Internet services) and highly customizable, the model of a static mapping between resources and services starts to break down. New models are required that incorporate the inherent dynamism that SDPs bring to the Telecom world.

Stephane Maes will discuss the arrival of Internet-standards based platform for telecom service delivery through offerings such as the Oracle Service Delivery Platform (Oracle SDP), and how TM Forum models are evolving to support the emergence of SDPs.

Indu Kodukula of Oracle and Dave Bolene of BT will discuss how BT uses Oracle Service Delivery Platform to drive BT’s 21st Century strategic initiatives.
