Strategic Projects -- Contributing Member Program:


Participation in TM Forum Strategic Projects (defined by TM Forum Board of Directors) and benefits are outlined in the Contributing Member Program web pages.

Periodic participation For smaller types of contributions or a way to get to know a team: Attendance on project team calls, join community discussions, make specific contributions, submit Case Studies Time to participate and create contributions as interests dictate.
Team Action Week attendance is recommended but not required.

Strategic Project Contribution Contributes a significant piece of work to a community. This contribution is often useful “as is” without significant modification. Strategic Project contributions include:  work based on implementation; expertise in a particular gap area in a best practice, standard, tool or other artifact  Time to create written contribution (though in most cases the work has already been completed within your own company) and 2-4 phone calls with the team;
Alternatively, to make contribution in person at Team Action Week
Frequently companies make contributions like this when they want to influence the direction of the standard, because such a contribution means the work can move more quickly in this direction.

Active Contributor Agree to take on a particular role that utilizes your skill sets within an active project.  This involves completion of an agreed set of deliverables such as writing and/or editing documents or document sections, attending and taking a leadership role in online forums, phone calls, discussions and debates on topics.  This role is an opportunity to grow in to a major TM Forum contributor if you desire.  2 hours per week + Team Action Week Attendance, growing with level of involvement Recognition as team member in community

Speaking engagements as role grows
Editor/Model Manager Leadership role. Manages documents and/or Models on behalf of the project. Co-ordinates comments and inputs/ updates. 3 hours per week + Team Action Week Attendance with peaks for deliverables Significant influence in developing project output

Individual and company recognition in project charter and published documents
Individual recognition as domain expert
Team Leader Leading a major initiative in the TM Forum Collaboration Program. 
Drive, administer, and report on project activities.  Participate in the TM Forum Team Leaders Group.

Project Champion If you work for a communications service provider of any kind including a traditional telco, broadband provider, wireless operator, or MSO, or if you are a Defense Agency, or you are an enterprise customer of IT services, you can be a project champion.  In this role you will provide guidance and prioritization to the project team by contributing your requirements. The most successful projects are those that start with a clearly defined set of needs from service providers or other relevant end users and have feedback on results on a regular basis. Several hours per week at project kick off time to define requirements.  Lower commitment to review work as project progresses Extensive benefits for you and your company.
