Collaboration Program

Projects & Initiatives

At the top level we have Projects and Initiatives.

Collaboration Projects: Collaboration Projects are where the TM Forum Best Practices and Standards are defined. Project teams define a set of deliverables that they will create in their “Project Charter” and then a combination of TM Forum and member resources, depending on the style of project, work to complete the work set out in the charter. Projects have a set start and end date with defined roles for the participants.

All TM Forum Collaboration Projects are found in the Online Communities. Become a member of as many project teams as you think are relevant to your business. To get involved, simply join the online Community and introduce yourself to the group via a discussion post. Make sure you set your email notifications to receive messages about calendar updates immediately so you will be aware of upcoming conference calls.

Initiatives: Thought leading, strategic programs that open new areas of focus for TM Forum by using TM Forum resources to lead the industry direction in the area of the Initiative. Initiatives groups work at a strategic level to identify the operational/management needs in the segment and then launch Collaboration Projects to address the high priority requirements. Initiatives leverage TM Forum research, benchmarking data, conferences, board of directors input, membership expertise, existing best practices and standards and more to define industry direction.

All TM Forum members are invited to get involved in Initiatives that are relevant to their company’s business. To learn about a given Initiative, visit the web section for that topic in the Initiatives menu. In particular, read the “Prospectus” document for that Initiative. To get involved, simply join the online Community and introduce yourself to the group via a discussion post. Make sure you set your email notifications to receive messages about calendar updates immediately so you will be aware of upcoming conference calls.

Read our “Get Started in the Collaboration Program” list for a detailed list of steps on how to get involved in either Initiatives or Collaboration Projects.
