| For the IPDR Compliant™ process, a solution provider participates in an interoperability environment wherein the solution is determined through observation to interoperate with at least two peer entities provided by other solution providers under several light-usage real-world scenarios. It is a requirement that companies must use a shipping, production version of their product for the testing, and the configuration used for testing must be available to product purchasers at the time of the test. For CableLabs® certification, a highly-structured certification wave event occurs at various points in the year with solution providers supplying hardware, software, and personnel to execute detailed test scripts developed for that wave. The certification process determines equipment compliance with the specifications, but does not test for performance, quality, or other subjective characteristics.
