Jump start your business with TM Forum Quick Start Packs and Guides that contain—in one package—standard end-to-end business flows, data, interfaces, and business metrics for a specific business function, such as service delivery.
Most service providers today are undergoing transformations to improve customer support and speed new service deployment. Frameworx Quick Start Packs—a new Frameworx feature—enable service providers to jump-start their transformations by providing standard, baseline end-to-end business flows and related activities for specific business scenarios.
Quick Start Packs enable service providers to improve how they run their business. They can:
- Drive customer satisfaction by
- Rapidly rolling out new products through simplified standard process flows
- Improving fault response times through an end-end view of trouble management
- Reduce procurement costs and the time and risk of deploying new business processes by
- Using standard key processes, information, and process flows rather than developing them from scratch
- Leveraging standard application configurations that support the flows
- Assess their capabilities and readiness to address a new activity and to identify the strengths and weaknesses in their approach by starting with a standard process baseline
Quick Start Packs make it easy for members to see how Frameworx can be used to solve specific business problems. The first Quick Start Packs, available in Frameworx 11.5, focus on Enabling New Service, Trouble to Resolve, and TV Everywhere.
Quick Start Packs are vertical slices through Frameworx that gather all Frameworx assets required to address a specific business activity. For instance the Quick Start Pack for Enabling New Services captures in one document all aspects of process, information, and application, as well as metrics and guidebooks, which are relevant to new service rollout. It also contains standard process flows.
The new Quick Start Packs are reference models that provide off-the-shelf, standard Frameworx-based process flows, data, interfaces, and metrics, obviating the need to develop these from scratch.
Quick Start Packs
In today’s environment, service providers are challenged by new service enablement, convergence, cost reduction, new business models, complex value chains, and the drive for business and operational efficiency—while at the same time undergoing rapid business transformation.
Quick Start Packs simplify the application of the TM Forum Frameworx suite of standards in the face of complex enterprise architectures and value chains. Frameworx Quick Start Packs enable service providers to jump-start their transformations by providing standard, baseline end-to-end business flows and related activities for specific business scenarios.
The Quick Start Packs enable service providers to:
- Expand through innovation and new services
- Reduce the “time to market” for existing and new services
- Reduce both operational and integration costs
- Increase and maintain revenues through increased market share and customer retention, as well as reduction in fraud
- Manage services “end to end”
- Improve customer experience and retention.
Quick Start Packs provide packaged solutions of Frameworx artefacts by delivering packaged and focused capability for specific market drivers. Each pack is scoped around a specific use case. They provide a business view of activities and flows that represent how an enterprise or set of enterprises interwork in a value chain. Of course there may be variation in detail for how companies handle each scenario, but the Quick Start Packs provide a common baseline from which tailored amendments can be made.
The Quick Start Packs are modeled using Frameworx Business Process Framework, with linkages to the Information Framework and the Application Framework.
The end-end scenario is described as a Business Process Level 2 view, which illustrates the “footprint” of the scenario on the Framework. This is then elaborated into a Level 2 process flow. The overall scenario for each Quick Start Pack can include a number of aspects, including exceptions that arise in particular circumstances. The view provided in each pack is focused on a mainstream or “sunny day” situation where only the major branch of activity is represented.
