Frameworx is constantly evolving to work in harmony with other critical industry standards, enabling you to utilize multiple standards together to address different issues for your business.
ITIL
Offering a widely adopted approach to IT Service Management, ITIL provides a comprehensive framework for identifying, planning, delivering and supporting managing the services that IT provides to a business.
By working closely with itSMF – the trade body responsible for ITIL – we have harmonized language and expanded the Business Process Framework (eTOM) to enable implementation of ITIL Good Practices using Frameworx. Because the Business Process Framework and ITIL are fully mapped together, implementing ITIL couldn’t be easier.
To help with implementation of ITIL and Frameworx, we have jointly developed a guide on how to use the two standards.
Download this presentation for a more detailed view of the relationship between Business Process Framework (eTOM) and ITIL.

TOGAF
In poll questions on a recent webinar, 80% of service providers considered Enterprise Transformation and Governance to be a high or medium priority for their company, with the majority saying it is of high importance.
Recognizing this growing priority to use Enterprise Architecture concepts in transformations, the TM Forum has been actively involved with its members and other industry groups to determine the role of Frameworx in Enterprise Architectures and Governance Platforms.
To share the current status of this work and to gather insights, the TM Forum sponsored a webinar entitled “Enabling Enterprise Architecture Transformation with Frameworx” that took place on January 31, 2012. Over 250 people participated in the webinar and many more have listened to the recorded webinar and download the slides.
The business benefits of Enterprise Architecture Transformation are primarily to ensure that the IT infrastructure is aligned to meet a company’s strategic business needs. Alignment lowers CapEx and OpEx by improving agility and efficiency. In addition, Enterprise Architecture transformation makes sure the right information is organized, stored, retrieved, and exposed when it needs to be and to the people who need to know. This way, staff and customers have the information that they require at all times, ensuring an efficient, reliable, and cost effective IT foundation that can be expanded to meet future needs.
Governance Platforms enable repeatability and measurability by defining sets of standardized governance, business services, and business benchmarks as part of an enterprise architecture transformation.
TOGAF is a detailed method and set of resources for developing an Enterprise Architecture. Developed by The Open Group’s Architecture Forum, TOGAF offers a comprehensive, open method for Enterprise Architecture for any enterprise. TM Forum, its members, and The Open Group are engaged in a joint study to identify how Frameworx can enable structural linkage between business and IT to support the governance of strategic initiatives.
Frameworx provides the detailed business process, information and application models built and hardened for service provider businesses for TOGAF’s Architecture Development Method (ADM). Using Frameworx and TOGAF together enables service providers to deploy an Enterprise Architecture specifically designed for a service provider’s business structure and needs.
The view is that Frameworx is an out-of-the-box solution for implementing TOGAF as an enterprise architecture (‘how’ to realize TOGAF), whereas TOGAF is the best practice ‘what’ of enterprise architecture.
Results of this joint study to date are documented in a Technical Report, “Exploring Synergies between TOGAF and Frameworx”, and in Frameworx Implementation Methodology GB945M.
