This section is the library of the TM Forum documents, listing all documents, (old and new) created over the life of the Forum.  Most of the documents are downloadable directly from the web page, however for some of the older ones, it may be required to request a copy from the TM Forum office.

In this area you will find the core industry contributions of the TeleManagement Forum; the documented output from its working teams in the form of strategic guides, frameworks, business requirements, information models and specifications.These solutions are made available to drive forward common solutions to the communications industry's most pressing business and operational needs. From sophisticated and far-reaching Strategic Guidebooks to very specific Implementation Specifications, TM Forum publications provide significant business value across the OSS & BSS industry.

TM Forum artifacts take several forms:

  • Frameworks and Strategic Guidance for the Industry are documented in Guidebooks
  • Business Requirements are documented in Business Agreements
  • Information Models are documented in Information Agreements and Protocol Specific Specifications
  • Specifications for Catalyst Implementations are documented in Interface Implementation Specifications
  • Industry Issue, Overview, Assessment, Analyses are documented in Technical Reports

Formal Review Process

TM Forum has a formal review process for the approval and release of its artifacts:

  • Team Draft - Member Teams create initial draft work that is considered work in progress and is only available to TM Forum working team members.
  • Member Draft - After approximately 3 months or when the team deems their work stable, the team releases a Member Draft for access by all TM Forum members. (the Member draft represents a stable draft that has team consensus for release and has had multiple working team input)
  • Member Evaluation - Within 3 to 6 months, Member Teams release the Member Evaluation Version of their deliverable. It is reviewed and approved by the TM Forum Strategy Management Team (TM Forum Executive Management Team and Selected Board Members) for release
  • TM Forum Approved - Within 3 to 6 months and with Strategy Management Team approval, a document can begin the process to become TM Forum  Approved.  A TM Forum Approved document must be approved by a majority of TM Forum corporate member companies.
  • Member Version - Documents that are not to become TM Forum Approved and it is decided they should not be released to the public are made Member Versions and reside only available to TM Forum membership in the Knowledge Base.
  • Public Version - Documents that are not to become TM Forum Approved and should be released to the public are made Public Versions and reside in the Knowledge Base.
