Charter Communications – a US cable company – was able to cut its cuts annual IT spend by nearly 60 percent and provide even more consistent customer service.  TM Forum’s Business Process Framework was used during an effort to introduce great IT governance, especially in the areas of configuration and portfolio management. Telekom Slovenije undertook an OSS transformation project and achieved dozens of benefits including 90 percent automation of the service design process, order-to-bill time reduced by 30 percent and reduction in operational expenditures. Magyar Telekom (MT), Hungary’s largest  telecom provider converted a home-grown legacy provisioning system to a single platform for provisioning and activation of multiple product lines. They were able to decrease their service activation time, time to market, manual configuration times and field force activities and more. They estimate that their use of TM Forum standards enabled a 25 percent reduction in definition and detail design and an overall 10 percent reduction in development time. Read more...
