12.15 Realizing Cloud Potential
Matthew Edwards, Director, Cloud Services, TM Forum
Cloud computing enables organizations from ever vertical around the world to change the way they do business; to shift expenditure form ‘business as usual’ to innovation and growth. In doing so it allows organizations to focus on their customers in a way they have never been able to before. We are all aware of the great potential that Cloud Services offer organizations all over the world; the entire value chain from Enterprise Customers, Cloud Service Providers to Technology Suppliers have a tremendous opportunity, but how do we remove the barriers to adoption and create an open and vibrant marketplace? This presentation will examine TM Forum’s Cloud Services Initiative and the importance of standards in realizing Cloud potential.

12.45 KEYNOTE: Cloud from a Buyer’s Perspective as part of the ECLC
Michael Harte, Group Executive Enterprise Services, and Chief Information Officer, CommonwealthBank

“The cloud” is not driven by enterprise buyers wanting to reduce costs thereby putting increased pressure on technology service providers. The fundamental driver is increased consumer demand for richer content and increased convenience and mobility. The infrastructure and services required to meet these consumer demands can’t be delivered on existing IT infrastructure or with traditional methodologies given the speed-to-market, service capability and efficiency required. Enterprises need to meet this increasing demand through the provision of on-demand services that require; service oriented innovation, new processes, large scale highly available rich content streaming and real-time analytics and transaction completion.
